IRISH TIMES reports on Unite for Life vigil ... kind of.
There was a pro life vigil held in Dublin earlier this month. It was organized at very short notice yet it far surpassed in numbers the pro abortion march that was held a few months ago. How did the Irish Times report the vigil?
Eilís Mulroy: Pro-choice side must not hijack this terrible event.
The shocking story of the death of Savita Halappanavar has stunned the nation. However many people, including people within the Irish Times and other papers are using her death, without knowing the full facts, to promote abortion. This article appeared in the Irish Independent a few days ago.
David Quinn: Illegal abortion advice is putting lives at risk -- so why is it ignored?
Writing in today's Irish Independent columnist David Quinn takes the Irish media to task for ignoring stories about dangerous and possibly illegal advice gives by some crisis pregnancy services:
Read the full article here. However, aside from this newspaper, most of the rest of the media haven't considered it to be of any importance at all.The 'Irish Times' hasn't reported a line of it, even though it gave extensive coverage to the rogue anti-abortion agencies. How on earth can it justify this?RTE barely mentioned it and to the best of my knowledge it has featured on none of the station's discussion programmes. In fact, on the day the story broke, RTE judged that a new study showing smoking can damage your health (breaking story -- dog bites man!) was more newsworthy than the revelation that women are receiving illegal and dangerous advice at pro-choice clinics.
Will the Irish Examiner reassess it's agenda?
It's tough to see the Irish Examiner newspaper in difficulty especially when there are so many employees in danger of losing their income. However, it's no secret that the Examiner was pushing an ideological agenda over the past couple of years which had lost it a lot of support.
Some journalists foisting a message against the right to life did more damage to the newspaper than may meet the eye.
Hopefully the Examiner will come of this difficulty and reassess where it is going as a newspaper.

Pro-Lifers losing patience with RTE?
Great to see new initiative from Hearbothsides.org challenging the media consensus in Ireland which seeks to exclude genuine debate on important human rights issues.
Would be nice if RTE could get the message and show some balance.
